LMC x00 C Automation Controllers

Controller platforms for automation applications with a motion component

Description

Logic-motion controlThe PacDrive LMC 101C, 201C, 300 C, 400 C, and 600 C controllers combine motion, PLC, and IT functionalities on a single automation platform. Using an IEC 61131-3-compliant machine program, the processor for each controller performs all control functions, from Cartesian and robotic motion to temperature regulation and machine logic. All of the system functions run via the LMX x00 C controller, from the human-machine interface to motion and device bus communication, line synchronization, and vertical integration.

Scalable controller performanceThe standard operating system for all LMC x00 C controllers is VxWorks, and the Schneider Electric Logic Motion Runtime software is identical for all controllers. Application programs can be ported between controllers as needed to fulfill performance requirements. Aspects such as the number of axes to be synchronized, data transmission volumes, and the range of robotic elements to be integrated all determine which controller offers the optimum balance of price and performance. The LMC 300 C, 400 C, and 600 C controllers can synchronize 0 to 99 Servo axes or up to 30 robots per controller. When running PLC programs, the controllers can process 1000 bit instructions in 5 μsec. The LMC 101 C and 201 C, currently in development, will provide increased scalability and will make PacDrive even more economical at the lower end of the performance spectrum for simple machines with 0 to 8 servo axes.    SERCOS III Automation BusLMC x00 controllers communicate with drives via SERCOS III. Field devices can also be connected via  SERCOS III or various field buses. The fully integrated SERCOS III communication facilitates the creation of automation solutions with a fully integrated, Ethernet-based automation bus. Features at a glance
